ATTENTION ALL CRV CUSTOMERS!
CHANGE TO THE DAILY LOAD LIMITS ALLOWED TO BE REDEEMED AT THE CERTIFIED RECYCLING CENTERS BY CONSUMERS
Effective January 1, 2014, certified recycling centers in California are restricted by law from receiving loads of CRV empty beverage containers, and paying CRV to any person, operation or entity who is not certified by CalRecycle, Division of Recycling (Division) and who is delivering a load of material in excess (at or over) of 100 pounds of aluminum or each type of plastic beverage containers, or 1,000 pounds of glass beverage containers, per day. It is also a violation of the law for a recycling center to split loads in excess of the daily load limits into multiple transactions, or accept in any one day an aggregate total of material in excess of the daily load limits.

You can bring in as many appliances as you need. You do not need to do anything. However, we do charge $10 for each Freon units and $2.50 for each plastic dishwasher.

I have a 1000 lbs of glass 100lbs of aluminum & 100lbs plastic beverage containers. Can I bring this total amt of recyclables in, in one day?
LikeLike
Melissa, that is the max amount you can bring in. If you go over that amount you will get scrap price on aluminum cans only. There is no scrap price on Plastic or Glass. If you have this amount and want your full refund then I would bring in half your load 1 day and the other half the next.

Hi Meg!! When it comes to the regulation on CRV Bottles, the label must be on or inside the bottle without the label its just garbage plastic

Hi, I’ve never heard of a CalRecycle rule that states, “plastic crv containers must have their labels on or inside the plastic containers”.
Is this a new CalRecycle rule or the preference of NorthState?
Thanks for your time.

This has always been the rule. Some recyclers let it slide. If you were to ask at CalRecycle they would let you know they have to have labels.

do you accept crushed cans?

Yes, as long as they are not crushed by a vehicle and are flat. Crushed cans in a can crusher or by hand or foot is fine.

That is a good question. Most mornings are the best time to come in, towards the afternoon it gets busier.

I don’t completely understand this notice. So do I have to be certified by calrecycle to recycle ANY crv units or only if I want to recycle more than the totals listed above?

Hi Allison. The way this works is you are allowed to bring in up to 100 lbs. of cans, all plastics, and 1000 lbs. of glass in a 24-hour period. If you go over the limit it will become bought at a scrap price.
