Step 1: Sort Materials

Start by sorting your recyclables. Make sure containers are grouped by type, clean from liquids or hazardous materials, and metals are separated by category for better recycling.

Step 2: Drop-off or for Existing Contract Customers Schedule a Metal Roll Off Pickup

Take your sorted materials to our recycling center, or you can easily schedule a pickup through our simple customer portal. You can also arrange this service with your roll-off contact for added convenience. We aim to make recycling easy and efficient for you.

Step 3: Get Paid and let the Processing Begin

Bring your tag to the office along with a valid government-issued ID to receive payment. Once collected, your materials are processed and transported to be transformed into reusable resources, aiding in waste reduction.

Common Questions

Your questions about recycling answered here.

You can recycle many metals like copper, brass, stainless steel, aluminum, iron scraps, fencing, and almost any other metal. We also pay California Redemption Value (CRV) for aluminum cans, plastics, and glass. Make sure CRV items are clean, dry, and properly labeled. Check local rules or call us for specific recycling information.

Rinse CRV containers to get rid of any liquid or food before recycling. For metals like aluminum and copper, make sure no other metals are attached to get the best price. For iron, follow the steps to prepare it before putting items in your bin or your vehicle for delivery.

You can drop off your electronic waste at the City of Redding Transfer Station. Consult local officials to find nearby drop-off locations.

Recycled items are collected, sorted, and transformed into raw materials. These materials are then used to make new products, reducing waste and conserving resources in the process.

Recycling helps to conserve natural resources, reduce pollution, and decrease landfill waste. It plays a vital role in promoting sustainability and protecting the environment for future generations.

Prepared Iron is steel thicker than a 1/4″ and shorter than 4′ by 2′. Anything over 4′ by 2′ is considered Unprepared Iron.

Tin is any type of steel less than a 1/4″ thick, size does not matter.
